Arabic calligraphy knives are an essential tool in Arabic calligraphy.

They serve to create your pens, cut your paper, and if your so inclined, to stir your ink.

But mainly they serve to cut your pens.

I have several knives that I use to make my pens.

The most important feature of my pens is that they are all sharp, and quality knives.

I originally started with a cheap box cutter knife.

But I cannot stress this enough – you need good Arabic calligraphy knives.

Knives of bad quality will not help you make good tools and are dangerous.

The longevity of good knives more than outweighs the cost of purchasing them.

I’ll let you in on the knives I use and how I maintain them fit for Arabic calligraphy purposes.
